Beka's Story

When Beka was only 8 years old, she wanted her very own pet. She wanted a puppy! Her daddy told her to research for a whole year to decide which breed would be best for her. She did! One day while riding in the car on a homeschool fieldtrip & vacation, Beka saw a puppy on a page of a library book. She found her breed! She knew she wanted her puppy to look "just like that one." It was a little red longhaired dachshund! Her daddy then told her to research another year to find just the right one. She did! She read & looked at all the books in the library, in addition to buying her own books about the dachshund breed and how to raise a puppy. She was still learning how to read, and could recognize the word "dachshund" in the local newspaper. She diligently circled all the dachshund ads in the paper! One night she climbed up in her daddy's lap to show him all her circles. He told her to have mom call all of them! We finally found a lady who just had a litter the same day we called. We told her what Beka was looking for, and she had one. We went to look at the puppy at 1 week old. This precious puppy literally fit in the palm of our hands, and its little eyes had not even opened! Beka chose her that day, but her daddy told her he would bring her back in a few weeks to see if it was still what she was looking for. We took Beka back when the puppy was 5 weeks old, Beka was still set on this puppy. As she held the puppy, she said it looked like a little rag-a-muffin. She would name her puppy ~~ "Muffin." That was 5 years ago! Our sweet Muffin is now 5 and has been loved by her Beka ever since. We have grown to love the dachshunds so much. She has since then added five more. As her love for these wonderful canine companions continues to grow, she has wanted to share them with her world! She's now 17 and we've learned so much. We love all the colors, patterns, sizes, and coat-types. They are all unique and very special.

We truly believe "dachshunds are like potato chips; you can't have just one!"

We are a mom-daughter duo who share a love for dachshunds! We currently own, love, & spoil our doxies ~ Muffin, Kissy, Lucy, Justin, and our sweet Sundae.

We believe quality & temperament are most important. Our goal is to raise healthy, happy doxies who will be the joy & love of their human families. All our dachshunds are AKC registered. Most importantly, our dachshunds are our pets and are part of our family.

I encourage you to read Beka's Story below, as it gives just a glimpse of my daughter's love & determination to own a dachshund and then have that love continue to grow & mature as she herself grows & matures!
